Last week got me thinking, that there are so many things I'm passionate about, so it would be nice to have a dedicated space to share whatever it is that interests me in that particular moment in time and that's how I came up with "Whatever I Want Wednesdays". #dowhatyoulove #kikascharm #creativeblog #fashionblog #styleblog #kikascharmseries #focus #vision #passion
The art of decluttering
I've spent quite a bit of time decluttering these past few weeks and it was a nice reminder of how good it feels to minimise your belongings and it's also great for giving you some much needed clarity over what really matters in your life.
Not quite sure what sparked this idea, but here I am feeling better than before, so I guess it's already working!
Nowadays, it's so easy to get distracted, that I found it more and more difficult to focus on my passions and things that make me happy. We've all been there - a pile of notepads on the bedside table, books literally exploding out of your bookshelves, wardrobe bursting with clothing and I could go on and on.
So naturally, I thought a good way to start would be to go through my belongings, first to see what I have and then how much of it I can part with. I definitely recommend you do this on your next day off, as you'd be surprised by some of the things you find, which you didn't even know you had.
Sharpen your focus
The most recent group of things I went through were my books, or maybe I should just say fashion books, as there was hardly anything else, other than the occasional Steve Jobs biography! Just this fact alone says it all. As fashion books are full of beautiful images, they should first and foremost inspire you visually, instead of feeling like a burden on your endless "to read" list.
Fast forward to now and I look at my bookshelf every morning and instead of a grunt, I smile. I even picked up a Christian Dior book from his "Man of the Century" exhibition and found myself reading a thrilling interview with the famous couturier, which hugely inspired me.
Would this have happened a few weeks back, when that same book has been buried in the back of my shelf? I don't think so.
The idea of this new Wednesday post is to spark interest in my readers, so whatever it is you take from all this, even if it was just the tiniest spark of thought, I'd be happy.
I hope you enjoy this new mini-series
