Scrapbook Sunday - New Journal

Starting a brand new journal is a very thrilling moment, it's almost like you're even more careful about what you put on the first pages, as it's a new start, a new beginning, which makes it so refreshing and exciting at the same time. #journal #journaling #scrapbooking #scrapbooksunday #scrapbook #kikascharm #dowhatyoulove

I find journaling very therapeutic as it always clears my mind.

I think it's mainly because you concentrate solely on the task at hand and you're so immersed in it, it's almost like nothing else matters in that moment in time. Which in itself is very relaxing.

As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I've ordered a new personalised Leuchtturm journal a while back and didn't get to start it until recently. My inspiration has mainly been my newly created Journaling Pinterest board, which has grown massively since I started it. It goes to show how you can get inspired by anything and everything and you truly never know when the inspiration hits you next.

It was also nice to start using some of the beautiful stamps I had acquired during the years of collecting stationery. The one I'm proud of the most is from Japan and handmade and personalised with my name by the lovely creator Hana Rakui, who I was lucky enough to meet during one of my visits. Please do check out her page, as she is incredibly talented and has some lovely stamps, all hand made from Japanese oak. She now ships internationally.

But back to my first spread of the new journal. I had so much fun putting it together and I went with the first most natural thought, as I spread out all the images I had in front of me. And yes, these truly are my colours and themes I most gravitate towards. First of all Anne of Green Gables (one of my childhood favourites) together with some art of Vincent van Gogh, combined with the architecture of the South of France, which is one of my favourite places to visit.

I hope you enjoyed my new journal spread as much as I enjoyed making it. Let me know what do you prefer to use in your journal in the comments below.
